Question:
Recently, I had a Reiki session encouraged by a friendly nurse
who suggested it may help with the pain I've experienced for 10
years since my back surgeries. It did seem to help; can you explain
what Reiki is and where it comes from?
Answer:
Reiki
is a term meaning 'universal life force' or pure energy. For those
who can see this energy it usually appears as a fine white light,
when Reiki is activated, this light or essence, is amplified.
One can be trained to perceive this energy in and around a human
body and attune to higher vibrations the more it is practiced.
Mikao Usul, taught Reiki in the 1900's to activate the body's
natural healing energy. In a Reiki session the body absorbs all
the energy it needs and distributes it in the appropriate way.
Reiki enhances this natural process and can be used in conjunction
with other medical and alternative treatments with no ill effects.
People often report a feeling of deep relaxation, warmth, tingling,
relief from mental or emotional stress, a sense of balance and
well being.
Similar to Reiki is Therapeutic Touch taught by Delores Kreiger
R.N. beginning in 1971 and commonly used today in hospitals and
institutions by a growing number of the nations nurses. An estimated
thirty to fifty thousand practioners incorporate Reiki or Therapeutic
Touch into their routine car of children, adults, elderly, and
hospice care offering a non-invasive balance of energy.
Question:
I have a favorite stone that I've carried since I was a child.
Would it be possible to have it made into a piece of jewelry?
Answer:
Absolutely!
Some of the most beautiful jewelry is made from semi precious
or nontraditional stones. At Gentle Wind, we carry a large variety
of small minerals, most of which can be wrapped in wire to create
a stunning pendant.
Our wire-wraps are available in sterling silver or gold-filled
wire and are usually completed within a week. The picture shows
our recently wrapped pendants of Purple Drusy, Boulder Opal and
Serphinite. These pendants make a great gift and are one-of-a-kind
treasures. We would be happy to wrap your favorite stone whether
you would bring it in or pick one from our wide selection.
Question:
I have seen pictures of your Genesis machine. Can you please tell
me more about it and what benefits I could receive by using it?
Answer:
Since
ancient times, the power of music has been known to have healing
capabilities. In the beginning there was a beat, a rhythm, a resonating
sound that caused the body to feel, to vibrate, to hear as if
the body itself was a receiver. The Genesis Bio-Entrainment Module
allows you to receive with your whole body. It provides and interactive
musical environment that encourages the release of muscle and
physiological tension known as armoring or stress. The Genesis
serves as a tool for discovering new levels of awareness, consciousness,
and offers the additional benefit of a nurturing experience that
feels like a musical massage. People commonly use the Genesis
to reduce the effects of stress, chronic pain, and emotional issues,
as well as to encourage creative thinking, peak performance, and
conscious awareness.
Question:
I would love to learn more about Aromatherapy, in general. Is
there anything you can recommend for a common tension headache?
Answer:
In
the 1920's, French Chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse coined the
term "Aromatherapy" to describe this use of essential
oils.
The use of essential oils influences our mood, out body, mind,
and spirit and has been traced back to man's earliest recorded
history. Essential oils have a bio-electrical frequency that is
several times greater than the frequency of herbs, food, and even
the human body.
Scented candles and aromatic sources are quite pleasurable to
many, but if you are seeking Aromatherapy for a specific reason,
such as a headache, make sure the ingredients of candles, lotions
and even certain oils contain pure essential oils.
Eucalyptus or peppermint oil (diluted) may cool your headache.
Adding Lavender to you bath gel could have you sleeping like a
baby. Try orange oil to recharge and rose oil to soften the mood.
